China's entrance onto a new stage of economic transformation and integration into the world economy has coincided with increasing pressure to reform its corporate laws, to encourage Chinese corporations to become more socially responsible, and to make corporate social responsibility (CSR) an increasingly integral part of business management strategy and practice in China.
