One of the essential characteristics of life is the exchange of matter and energy between organisms and their environment. Radiation is one form of energy that has always existed in nature and will always be the companion of human beings throughout life. Technically, radiation protection is the measure to reduce exposure to radiation, and radiation dosimetry is the measurement of radiation doses. This book contains up-to-date information obtained from sources such as ICRP-60, UNSCEAR-1993, and ICRU-47. The first part describes the fundamental physical aspects of radiation dosimetry with reference to radiation protection, while the second part shows the dose measurements resulting from radiation exposure to various sources around us. Though the book is designed and written for undergraduate students in science and engineering, it should also be of use as a reference book for graduate students and professionals.
